TEXAS AND CHICAGO BLUES

From Texans Freddie King, Lightning Hopkins and Stevie Ray Vaughan to
Chicago's Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon and the whole Chess Records gang, learn
the blues in style. Study the tunes, chords progressions, licks, scales, and
turnarounds. Discover how to create the nuances for each style.

GUITAR BOOT CAMP
Chris Sauthoff
Get the basic training on how to make yourself a better guitar player. During
this hard-core guided practice session, you will learn guitar logic, scales,
finger and practice exercises, chords, inversions, and arpeggios, complete
with handouts. Then learn how to put it all to work with some group soloing
and jamming at the end.

BLUES ENSEMBLE
Chris Sauthoff
Play in a blues band and cover the ledgends like Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy,
Stevie Ray, and more. Learn multi-layered arrangements, solo, and figure
out how to find your part in a relaxed environment. All instruments welcome
including vocalists and horns. Every session explores new music and
arrangements.

Learn all about amps by playing them! Cover compressors, choruses,
flangers, distortion units, and delays. Test drive Chris’ various amps, effects,
24-channel mixing board, or bring in your own equipment. Perfect if you are
considering an amp or electric guitar purchase, or if you want to know more
about amps, guitars, and effects. Hands-on, so space is limited.

CAGED FRETBOARD
Chris Sauthoff
Simplify the guitar fretboard with the CAGED system. Visualize chord
patterns, scales, and how they link together on the entire neck using the
chords C, A, G, E, and D. Solo better, compliment other musicians,
accompany yourself and others, and play new arrangements of songs.
Demystify the theory of the fretboard in an accessible, visual way.

DJANGO GYPSY GUITAR

GARAGEBAND FOR MAC

Get a thorough tutorial on how to use GarageBand for Macs. Learn how to
get the most professional sound, edit, properly record, and explore what all
the features can do. You are welcome to bring your own Mac laptops with
GarageBand, or watch the demo.

deeper into it's actual application. How to take all these patterns and forms

GUITAR SET UP AND MAINTENANCE

Learn how to keep your guitar playing well. Bring a set of strings and we will
re-string your guitar. Then learn how to set it up to make sure it's playing
properly. Basic adjustments of Truss Rods, fretboard cleaning, and
maintenance will be covered.

MICHAEL JACKSON: THRILLER

instruments and/or voice.

COMPOSITIONAL TECHNIQUES
Chris Sauthoff
Learn simple tools to write musical compositions on the guitar. Use basic,
accessible theory to create a sketch and then add personal touches to make
it your own. Every student will write a new composition each class! For guitar
player with a Guitar 2 skill level.
